Flight training began in 93rd Air Force Base

A practical basic flight training of the first generation of the new model of training of Croatian military pilots on the ZLIN 242 L aircraft began on March 22, in the “Zemunik” barracks, in the Aircraft Squadron (EA) of the 93rd Air Force Base.

Besides six Croatian candidates in the status of officers, military scholars and volunteer recruits from the Ministry of Defence and Croatian Armed Forces, there is a solider Drazen Matijevic, member of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), whose training for military pilot has been carried out in 93rd Air Force Base on the basis of bilateral agreements between Croatia and BiH.

Also, two student-pilots from XVII generation within the regular education through the “Kadet” program started with the basic flight training on ZLIN aircraft.

All participants had previously successfully completed selection flight, theoretical program, and basic parachute training, and under the expert guidance of teachers in flight training on the ZLIN in the next three months they shall adopt the contents of the basic flight training, navigation and group flight lasting 50 flying hours per participant.

Further training of participants will be according to the expressed interests, accomplishments, and training needs of the Croatian Air Force and Air Defence, where student will split in June on helicopter and aircraft pilots.
