General Baric attended Strategic Military Conference in Belgrade

Deputy Chief of General Staff for Plans and Resources, Lieutenant General Slavko Baric has been participating on a two-day Strategic Military Conference of NATO member and partner countries, held in Belgrade from 14 June 2011 and organized by the Allied Command Transformation (ACT).

Representatives of more than 60 countries participate at the conference, and a major topic of the conference is “After Lisbon: Implementing the transformation” within which they will discuss the future development of partnership, capacity building through multinational and innovative solutions and access to world resources, use of marine, air, space and cyberspace area. Development and improvement of NATO partnership with other organizations and countries is one of the most important conclusions of the summit in Lisbon, which has found its important place in the new Strategic Concept of NATO.

Military Strategic Partnership Conference is one of the most important annual conferences organized by the Allied Command Transformation, which enable NATO member and partner countries in the Partnership for Peace, Mediterranean Dialogue and the Istanbul Initiative, an opportunity to exchange views and experiences on development of security environment and about the future challenges, improving partnership’s policy in areas of joint action in operations, training, education, capacity building, joint financing of projects, etc.
