General Lovric attends 20th anniversary of the 102nd Brigade

Chief of General Staff of the Croatian Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Drago Lovric, also the envoy of the President of the Republic of Croatia and Commander in Chief of the Croatian Armed Forces, attended on Sunday, 12 June 2011, the celebration upon the 20th anniversary of the formation of 102nd Brigade of the Army-Novi Zagreb.

On this occasion, wreaths were laid and candles lit at the monument of fallen soldiers of 102nd Brigade in Sisinec Village near Lekenik. The ceremony was attended by members of the 102nd Brigade, members of the 102nd Brigade Veterans’ Club, veterans and their families, families of killed and injured members of the brigade, and others.

General Lovric congratulated the present at the ceremony marking the 20th anniversary of the formation of 102nd Zagreb brigade on behalf of the Commander in Chief and on behalf of all members of the Croatian Armed Forces. He stressed that members of the brigade witnessed the very beginnings of the Homeland war, and their courage, knowledge and dedication they implanted in a number of operations to liberate the Homeland. He noted that the history of 102nd Brigade was very bright and that the Armed Forces were proud that in it we still have members of 102nd Brigade, which took part in defending and preserving the sovereignty of the Republic of Croatia.
