General Lovrić visits soldiers engaged in flood relief in Slavonia on the occasion of the CAF Day

The Chief of the General Staff of the Croatian Armed Forces, General Drago Lovrić on 27 May 2014 visited the members of the Croatian Armed Forces

who are taking part in the relief efforts in the flood-stricken areas in the Županja surroundings, extending congratulations on the Croatian Armed Forces and the Croatian Army Day to the Command Operations Centre, established on 27 May in Županja and commanded by Major General Mate Pađen, Deputy Chief of the General Staff for Operations, who briefed him on the current situation in the field and the relief activities by the members of the Croatian Armed Forces.

General Lovrić emphasised the symbolic value of the Croatian Armed Forces and the Croatian Army Day, drawing the parallel between the historic 28 May 1991 and the current flood-caused hardships, on both occasions  the Croatian military fulfilling its mission in the service of the suffering population. He appealed on them to remain as pride of the Homeland and of its Armed Forces.
General Lovrić also visited the soldiers working on reconstruction of the broken embankment and the Engineer Battalion constructin the interim one at Rajevo Selo and  those engaged on the nearby decontamination post.
