General Peternel visits “Immediate Response 11″exercise
Deputy Commander of the Army Brigadier General Zvonko Peternel visited the participants of the international military exercise “Immediate Response 11” at a military training area “Eugen Kvaternik” Slunj on Thursday, 9 June 2011.
During his stay, General Peternel visited members of the Croatian Armed Forces and the Armed Forces of the United States who have been training together convoy operations and operations in an urban area.
Implementation of convoy operations shows the cooperation of American troops in Humvee vehicles and Croatian soldiers in the new Patria armoured vehicle in the joint coordinated implementation of tasks, with the support of the Croatian Air Force, which also participated in training activities. On the part of the training area allocated for operations in urban areas, tactics, techniques and procedures of “surround and search” were trained.
