IMOTC marks 18th anniversary

The International Military Operations Training Centre (IMOTC) on 1 March 2019 marked its 18th anniversary, in its home barracks “Vitez Damir Martić” at Rakitje.

The marking ceremony was attended by the Commander of the Croatian Army, Major General  Siniša Jurković, by the Director of RACVIAC the Security Co-operation Centre Major General (Ret.)  Jeronim Bazo (AL) and other invitees.

General Jurković congratulated the IMOTC commanders and members on the 18-year successful service and underlined their merit in preparation of the enlisted soldiers, NCOs and officers for engagement in crisis and conflict-affected areas worldwide. 

“I expect the Centre’s staff  to continue successfully preparing soldiers and conducting pre-deployment trainng programmes”, said Major General Jurković and stressed that the Croatian Armed Forces have continuously intensified their international activity.

The IMOTC Commander Colonel Ivan Miloš recounted the history of the Centre: “The International Military Operations Training Centre has taken  part in a number of UN-led peace operations by preparing and administering pre-deployment courses and contributed through each contingent deployed to Afghanistan and other NATO-led operations, as well as for the EU-led operations ”

Colonel Miloš anounced advances to take in some key areas and recalled the important role  of the former and present staff of the Centre. “Generations of members and the previous commanders have left their mark in this Centre through hard and devoted work and deserve the credit for its present status”.
 
The ceremony featured the presentation of commendations and awards to the meriting members of the Centre.
