ISAF 19th and 20th HRVCON handover

The handover between 19th and 20th Croatian contingent in ISAF operation and awarding medals to members of the 19th HRVCON took place today, 12 September 2012, in the Warehouse Camp in Kabul, Afghanistan.

The handover was attended by the Deputy Commander of the Regional Command Capital Turkish Colonel Bedirhan Koc, Afghan Brigadier General Sayed Ahmad Shah and representatives of national contingents of France, Germany, Portugal, Hungary, Bulgaria, Belgium, as well as numerous other high dignitaries.

Handing over Croatian flag to Commander of the 20th HRVCON Colonel Željko Dadić, Commander of 19th HRVCON Colonel Tomislav Galić said that this contingent achieved superior results and that he hopes that the 20th HRVCON ISAF would continue by their footsteps contributing to the reputation that Croatia has in Afghanistan and in the entire international community.

Welcoming the members of the Croatian contingent in ISAF Colonel Koc stressed the importance of Croatian involvement, thanking on the dedication and professional approach in performing tasks in the Regional Command Capital.
Thanking on the efforts that members of the Croatian contingent in ISAF operation have been investing in the training of Afghan Security Forces, Brigadier General Sayed Ahmad Shah said that Afghanistan respected the international community’s efforts to build the Afghan army and police, emphasizing the contribution of the military police.

Welcoming the present, the Commander of 20th HRVCON Colonel Željko Dadić said that the 19th HRVCON raised the bar high, but that members of the new contingent would give their best and by joint efforts continue to follow the paths that were paved by their predecessors and wished them a safe return to the Homeland.

Members of the 19th HRVCON who for the first time had participated in the ISAF operation were given the NATO Medal by the Deputy Commander of RC Capital, Turkish Colonel Koc.
