Israeli delegation visited MOD

State Secretary of the Ministry of Defence Pjer Simunovic received on Wednesday, 12 January 2011, in the official visit a delegation of the Ministry of Defence of the State of Israel, led by Jacob Laor, Assistant Director for International Cooperation.

During the meeting they discussed the possibilities of strengthening cooperation between the two countries in the areas of military-military and military-industrial cooperation, in the fight against terrorism and the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and regarding the strategic dialogue at all levels.
MOD State Secretary Simunovic also introduced the delegation with the draft of a new national security strategy and strategic defence policy documents which, in comparison with the previous policy documents, would prepare the Croatian Armed Forces for a new reality in the contemporary security challenges and threats, since Croatia was now a member of NATO and soon a member of the EU.
During the visit to the Defence Ministry, the Israeli delegation also met with MOD State Secretary Mate Raboteg, where they held talks on military-technical cooperation, and with the Director of the MOD International Military Cooperation Department Davor Cutic where they held bilateral defence consultations, and during the afternoon, Laor gave a lecture on the topic: “Middle East” in the Croatian Military Academy “Petar Zrinski”.
