Joint night flight training of the U.S. and Croatian pilots

A joint training of the Croatian Mi-171 Sh and Bell 206 B flaying crews and instructors from the United States with the equipment to fly at night completed on Friday, May 2, in the “Zemunik” Barracks. This modern and quality equipment allows the Croatian crew helicopters a safer and more efficient flying at night, and the possibility of landing on the unlit terrains.

With the contribution of effective assistance to the civilian population, such as search and rescue operations at night on the rough terrain and the easier and safer performance of medical flights, this training and equipment will contribute to more effective participation of CAF members in the KFOR mission in Kosovo. In the two training cycle so far conducted, 16 pilots and eight aircraft technicians were trained. Pilots who have completed the training received a license and became instructors trained to conduct training with other pilots.
The commander of the first part of the training was a Croatian pilot Major Michael Krizanec, and of the second part Helicopter Squadron Commander Major Dragan Andrijevic.
Several-weeks training by the U.S. instructors, and all costs of flying and equipment were financed by the United States.
