Lessons learned course at HVU

The lessons learned course has been held for staff officers from 16 to 20 May on the Croatian Military Academy.

“Petar Zrinski”. The course was organized by the Operations and Training Department of the General Staff in collaboration with the Joint Centre for Analysis and Lessons Learned from Lisbon which is part of Allied Command Transformation.
The course involved 22 students, five instructors from the Croatian Armed Forces and three lecturers from the NATO-ACT. Objectives of the course are training of staff for process management in the area of ​​lessons learned, using NATO and Croatian tools, training and information. Director of the course is Colonel Brandon Besenic and manager is Colonel Zvonko Brigljevic.

Lessons learned system are experts’ observations of training events and operational activities that show what needs to be changed to ensure more successful results and to serve as a guide for better targeting of training and improving the readiness and excellence of forces. Lessons learned examine all areas and function as a tool of continuous improvement of activities and procedures.
