Lucija Zaninović wins gold medal at the World Military Games
Lucija Zaninović, the Croatian taekwondoist and a member of the Croatian Armed Forces, has won the gold medal at the 6th World Military Games held in Mungyeong, South Korea from 2-11 October.
She beat out the French competitor Floriane Liborio 7:4 in the -53 kg division, representing the Croatian Armed Forces (alongside Filip Grgić).
The World Military Games are held quadriannually since 1995, under the auspices of the CISM (Conseil International du Sport Militaire- International Military Sport Council), gathering the armed forces of 133 countries under the motto“ Friendship through sport“.
Lucija Zaninović and Filip Grgić have been members of the Croatian Armed Forces since 2011, pursuant to the Agreement on co-operation, promotion and development of sport in the Republic of Croatia, and the new Agreement, dated March 2015, introduced the top athlets into the reserve specialists of the Croatian Armed Forces.
