Maj. Gen. Mate Pađen appointed MILREP to NATO & EU

Major General Mate Pađen assumed the duty of Military Representative of the Republic of Croatia to NATO and the EU.

Born in Ogulin, Croatia in 1962, Maj.Gen.  Mate Pađen graduated from the Mechanical Engineering Department of the Military Technical College in Zagreb, followed by master studies in national resource strategy in the National Defense University in Washington,  and other senior military education programmes.
A participant in the Homeland war, Maj. Gen. Pađen exercised senior staff and command duties, as well as duties in defence policy and international military co-operation in the General Staff and the Croatian Armed Forces. From 2008 to 2012 he was Croatian Defence Attache to the United States of America and Canada, and on return to Croatia he took the duty of Deputy Chief of the General Staff for Operations and Director of General Staff of the Croatian Armed Forces respectively.
He is a holder of the Memorial Medal of the Homeland War and of the Memorial Medal of Homeland’s Gratitude, of the Order of Croatian Three-strand Pattern and of the Order of Croatian Trefoil, and was also conferred the Order of Vice-roy Josip Jelačić, of the Order of Duke Branimir and the Memorial Medals of the Operations “Storm” and Daring Feat.
