Meeting of state secretaries of ministries of defence of Croatia and Slovenia

State Secretary of Ministry of Defence Pjer Simunovic and his associates met today, November 24, with the State Secretary of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Slovenia Uros Kreka in Cerklje na Krki. The two secretaries discussed the bilateral cooperation in the defence field, the contribution of the two countries to international peacekeeping operations and on strategic planning.

Long-term cooperation between the two ministries was deemed particularly successful in the field of military education and training, defence planning, logistics, security defence consultations, exchange of experience in international operations and other areas of the defence system.

Secretary of State Krek thanked State Secretary Simunovic on cooperation in the education of members of the Slovenian Armed Forces at the High NCO School at the Croatian Military Academy, and other forms of education through courses and conferences. Slovenian side presented the continuation of reform of the organizational structure of the ministry and strategic documents such as the Resolution on the Strategy of national security and the Resolution on the Long-term development program of the Slovenian Armed Forces until 2025.

The talks were also on the experiences of participation in the international ISAF operation in Afghanistan, and after the official part, there was a visit to a Cerklje na Krki military airport.
