Members of the Croatian Armed Firces leave for “SABER STRIKE 2017”

The Chief of the General Staff of the Croatian Armed Forcs, General Mirko Šundov an dthe Commander of the Support Command, Major General Mladen Fuzul attended the send-off for a 51-member contingent (the members of the Support Command and two members of the U.S. Army) to Lithuania.

The contingent will, along with the advance party ( a total of 59 members, including seven females), take place in the international exercise titled “Saber Strike 2017“ in the training area “Pabrade”, one of the largest exercises in 2017 led by US EUCOM comprising five field exercises conducted in several locations Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and Poland. The participating forces come from 18 NATO nations with over 10,500 members. The Croatian contingent  is assigned as Lead Nation in the Support Battalion Command; six members of the Croatian Army assigned to the Manoeuvre Battalion Command.
The Multinational Support Battalion (composed of units of the Croatian Armed Forces, the U.S. Army and the Norwegian Armed Forces) is commanded by Colonel Ivica Raguž.  Alongside the command element the Support Command engages with an RSOM Platoon, CIS squad and ROLE 1 medical team, equipped with two  semi-trailers (for transportation of containers, three forklifters, a fuel cistern, a van, an ambulance vehicle and containers with the equipment).
