Minister Anušić at the Croatian Defence Academy: Military education is key to strengthening the capabilities of the Croatian Armed Forces
The Proposal for Amendments to the Act on Service in the Armed Forces of the Republic of Croatia will enable soldiers and sailors to remain in active duty military service until the age of 50
“We want to transform the CDA into a centre of military excellence, and the new concept of military training is the answer to all contemporary challenges,” says General Zdilar.
On Thursday, 11 January 2023, Admiral Robert Hranj, Chief of the General Staff of the Croatian Armed Forces, and Ivan Anušić, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia and Minister of Defence, paid a working visit to the Dr. Franjo Tuđman Croatian Defence Academy with their colleagues.
They visited the CDA’s educational, housing, laboratory, and sporting facilities along with Major General Slaven Zdilar, the CDA Commandant, and other representatives from the Croatian Defence Academy, the Croatian Armed Forces, and the Ministry of Defence. On this occasion, Minister Anušić pointed out that all Croatian Armed Forces’ members continue to have better living and working conditions in addition to their substantive rights.
“An individual is the centre of the defence system. Consequently, satisfied soldiers, non-commissioned officers, and officers are at the centre of my ministerial efforts. Without driven, accountable, and professional CAF members, all the advanced technology we obtain would be useless. Military education is a key element in enhancing the capabilities of the Croatian Armed Forces,” said the minister.
Speaking on the significance of further developing the concept of the military education system, Admiral Robert Hranj expressed his belief that in the future, the Croatian Defence Academy and the University of Defence and Security will create an even better system.
In addition to expressing gratitude to the Ministry of Defence and the Croatian Armed Forces for their support of all modernisation projects, General Zdilar stated that the defence academy will always be a centre of excellence and a testament to the exceptional professionalism and training of Croatian soldiers, both domestically and internationally.
“We want to transform the CDA into a centre of military excellence, and the new concept of military training is the answer to the contemporary challenges we face,” General Zdilar remarked at the conclusion of the speech.
