Minister Anušić attends the Defence Council’s session
Drafts of the Defence Strategy and the Long-Term Development Plan of the Croatian Armed Forces adopted at the Defence Council session
On Friday, 23 May 2025, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia and Minister of Defence Ivan Anušić participated at the session of the Defence Council held in the Office of the President of the Republic of Croatia.
The session discussed strategic documents in the field of defence and adopted drafts of the Defence Strategy of the Republic of Croatia and the Long-Term Development Plan of the Croatian Armed Forces for the period from the year 2025 to 2036.
In addition to accepting the drafts of these two strategic documents in the field of defence, the Office of the President of the Republic of Croatia and the Government of the Republic of Croatia announced that conclusions were reached to refer them to the legally prescribed adoption procedure.
In accordance with the Defence Act, the session of the Defence Council was jointly convened by President of the Republic of Croatia Zoran Milanović and Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia Andrej Plenković.
The session was attended by all members of the Defence Council: President of the Republic of Croatia Zoran Milanović, Speaker of the Croatian Parliament Gordan Jandroković, Prime Minister Andrej Plenković, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Ivan Anušić, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Marko Primorac, Chief of the CAF General Staff LTG Tihomir Kundid, Chairman of the Defence Committee of the Croatian Parliament Arsen Bauk and Advisor to the President of the Republic for Defence Ivica Olujić.
The Defence Council is a coordination of the state administration bodies for harmonising positions and making conclusions and recommendations in the field of defence.
