Minister Anušić in Montenegro: No government has been helping Croats outside Croatia like the incumbent one
Defence Minister Anušić and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Grlić Radman attend Croatian People Day celebration in Montenegro
In honour of the Croatian People Day in Montenegro, the envoy of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Ivan Anušić, along with Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlić Radman, made an official visit to Montenegro on Saturday, 13 January 2024.
On that occasion, ministers Anušić and Grlić Radman visited the Consulate General of the Republic of Croatia in Montenegro, where they met with Zvonko Milas, State Secretary of the Central State Office for Croats Abroad, and Special Adviser for Croatian National Minority Issues Abroad.
The ministers then attended Karika, a traditional mass celebration in the St. Tryphon’s Cathedral in Kotor.
Speaking on behalf of the Croatian Prime Minister, Minister Anušić stated that no government has been helping Croats outside Croatia like the incumbent one during the ceremonial celebration of the Croatian People Day in Montenegro, which was held in the Auditorium (Dom vojske) in Tivat. The event was organised by the Croatian National Council of Montenegro.
“We are not just declaring our support for you. Montenegro is offered a hand as it travels towards joining the European Union. The Croats in Montenegro have a rich and remarkable cultural legacy that ought to be valued and preserved. Let the Croats and the Montenegrins live here in prosperity.”
Minister Grlić Radman said that Croatia wants to help Montenegro, saying, “We care about our neighbours.The pro-European Montenegro is important to us.”
Along with ministers Anušić and Grlić Radman, attendees were Presidents Zvonimir Deković of the Croatian National Council of Montenegro, Adrijan Vuksanović of the Croatian Civic Initiative, and Lidija Bradara of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
