Minister Anušić meets with Ambassador of the State of Israel Koren

Croatia supports the Israeli people’s right to self-defence, which must be in accordance with the humanitarian and international law, Minister Anušić says

On Thursday, 4 January 2024, Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of Croatia and Minister of Defence Ivan Anušić with his associates met with the Ambassador of the State of Israel to the Republic of Croatia, Gary Koren at the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Croatia.

Excellent bilateral relations between the two countries and continuation of defence cooperation in the military-technical domain were confirmed at the meeting.
On this occasion, Minister Anušić expressed his support to the people of the State of Israel in the current situation.

In this context, he said: “Croatia supports the right of the Israeli people to self-defence, which must be in accordance with humanitarian and international law.” Civilians, as the most vulnerable group, must be protected in every way.”
Ambassador Koren thanked the Israeli people for their cooperation and support so far. He emphasised that in the war against Hamas, Israel respects the international and humanitarian law and takes care of the protection of civilians.
