“Thank you for your motivation to join our great and honourable family of the Croatian Armed Forces,” the Minister said.

On Tuesday, February 8, 2022, Defence Minister Mario Banožić and his associates received the future officers of the Croatian Armed Forces, to whom the Minister handed over the decisions on admission to active military service.

The candidates are Doctors of Veterinary Medicine Silvija Jelačić and Antea Klobučar and Master of Pharmacy Sara Milec. They have successfully met the conditions for admission to active military service and their assignment to positions of health service officers in the Croatian Army.

Minister Banožić expressed satisfaction with the opportunity to receive and welcome new officers of the Croatian Armed Forces at the Ministry of Defence. He thanked the representatives of the Croatian Defence Academy for their efforts, work, and commitment to the training and professional development of young CAF personnel. Mr Banožić congratulated future officers for choosing this honorary vocation.

“Thank you for your motivation to join our great and honourable family! The calling of a Croatian soldier is not easy. Therefore, the knowledge you acquired is valuable to us. We are aware of the hard work and sacrifices you made during your studies,” said the Minister, adding that the environment in Croatian military ranks is stimulating as it promotes excellence and pushes the boundaries.

The Deputy Commandant of the CDA, Brigadier General Blaž Beretin pointed out that the medical profession has a critical role in the Croatian Armed Forces. He said that the admission of young officers brings benefits and improvements to the entire system.

“These jobs and occupations are extremely important,” said the general and thanked the Minister for the reception, co-operation, and support.

The commander of the 13th generation of the Basic Officer Course of the Health Service, second lieutenant Nikolina Mokricki, thanked the Defence Minister for the reception and commented on the curriculum. She also mentioned that all three future officers achieved excellent results.

Candidates Silvija Jelačić, Antea Klobučar, and Sara Milec were admitted to active military service following a public tender for the admission of health service candidates and a selection decision taken by a competent commission.
