During the talks, Minister in particular highlighted the role and involvement of members of the Croatian Armed Forces in international peacekeeping missions. Bozinovic emphasized the role of Croatia in the region and participation in regional initiatives such as the A5 US-Adriatic Charter which contributed to security in the region, but also contributed to peacekeeping operations around the world.

On the meeting with German Defence Minister zu Guttenberg, Minister Bozinovic was particularly interested in the current reform of the German Armed Forces, which includes the largest ever defence reform since its establishment, and includes the introduction of a fully professional army and strengthening of deployable military forces in peacekeeping missions which Germany plans of in size about 10,000 members. Minister Guttenberg made special emphasis on good defence cooperation between the two countries.

On the meeting with the Minister of Defence of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland Liam Fox talks were about security in the region with special emphasis on the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Kosovo, and also about cyber security, in which the United Kingdom has been one of the leading countries, which also was one of the topics of the Munich Conference.

Afghan Defence Minister Wardak particularly thanked for the contribution that Croatia, as a relatively small country, offers to the international mission in Afghanistan. Wardak said that the efforts of the international community saw in the fact that the Afghan people recognize the greater level of security in his country than it was before. It was pointed out the fact that the number of insurgent weapons storage found in a year was increased by 10 times, while the number of found and deactivated explosive improvised devices in the last 5 months makes 85% of the total IED’s so far found. This speaks to the fact that Afghan people recognized the efforts of the international community and cooperate with security forces in combating terrorism in their country. Ministers Bozinovic and Wardak discussed the possibilities of marketing of goods of the Croatian military industry, for which the Afghan side expressed interest during bilateral talks.
