Minister Bozinovic met representatives of ITF organization

Defence Minister Davor Bozinovic met today, Tuesday, July 19, with representatives of International Trust Fund, based in Slovenia, which is in cooperation with the governments of foreign countries, primarily the United States, aimed at raising funds and providing financial support for humanitarian mine clearance activities and disposal of non-perspective mines in South Eastern Europe.

During the meeting they also discussed possibilities of cooperation on projects to destroy surplus weapons with funding programs through international donations. It was pointed out that Croatia was interested in further projects of the destruction of surplus non-perspective ordnance, as well as for the potential engagement of local companies in such operations.

International Trust Fund is an international organization which since 1998 was involved in mine clearance projects in the region, and so far in the Republic of Croatia had been involved in mine clearance projects with the Croatian Mine Action Centre. Representatives from the Republic of Croatia also participate in the work of ITF professional bodies.
