Minister Bozinovic receives Ukrainian Ambassador Levchenko
Defence Minister Davor Bozinovic received on Tuesday, 25 January 2011, in an inaugural visit the Ambassador of Ukraine Oleksandr Levchenko. During the meeting they discussed bilateral cooperation between Croatia and Ukraine, with an emphasis on military-technical cooperation.
Ambassador Levchenko emphasized that Ukraine’s foreign policy priorities were integration into the EU, improving cooperation with Russia in the energy sector, and further economic development of Ukraine that would put it among the 20 most developed countries.
Although accession to NATO is not among the priorities, Ukraine will continue to actively cooperate with NATO through the participation of its members in peacekeeping operations and missions. Minister Bozinovic expressed his satisfaction with the bilateral military cooperation that has been most intense in the fields of education, military and technical cooperation and cooperation between the two navies.
