Minister Bozinovic visited visits “Eugen Kvaternik” training area

Defence Minister Davor Bozinovic visited today, 9 March 2011,  “Eugen Kvaternik” military training area near Slunj, where he got acquainted with the capabilities of the CAF training area.

On this occasion, Minister Bozinovic met participants of the course for training of reporters to work in conditions of peacekeeping operations, organized jointly by the Training Centre of the Croatian Radio and Television (HRT) and Croatian Army Peace Support Operation Centre.

Minister Bozinovic stressed the importance of good preparation for working in peacekeeping operation, as for the CAF, the same for other civilian personnel in international peacekeeping missions such as humanitarian and diplomatic personnel and newspaper reporters as well. “The knowledge that have our Croatian Army Peace Support Operation Centre (CAPSOC), is used, and can be used for other government bodies and institutions in Croatia, but it is also important for our partners in the region where we can offer our training capacities”, Minister Bozinovic said.
Representatives from the HRT Training Centre stressed that there was interest from other media outlets in the region for this course and expressed hope that this course would become regular in this form. They also announced the possibility of similar specialized courses organized jointly with the Croatian Army.
This is the second training course this year for HRT journalists for work in harsh conditions and peacekeeping operations, which was completed by 8 HRT employees, and the course was conducted jointly by CAPSOC and HRT instructors.
