Minister of Defence Davor Bozinovic visited today, 26 January 2011, Croatian Army Peace Support Operation Centre (CAPSOC) in Rakitje where he got acquainted with CAPSOC activities and CAF training related to international military operations.
The International Military Operations Centre (IMOC), established in 2001 as GS unit, in addition to training, was responsible for selection, training, equipping and observing of selected members for international military operations.
In November 2007, IMOC was reorganized and renamed to Croatian Army Peace Support Operation Centre (CAPSOC), with the basic task of developing and conducting training of individuals, teams and units of the Croatian Armed Forces for international military operations and providing technical assistance to units conducting training for international military operations and participation in evaluation of their training.
Since the Croatian Army is the fundamental service of the Croatian Armed Forces for international military operations, CAPSOC has become an integral part of the Army “Fran Krsto Frankopan” Training and Doctrine Command.
All courses in CAPSOC are conducted in accordance with the UN, NATO and EU standards / modules, and in English. So far the centre has developed and successfully implemented eight courses, of which three have been included in EAPWP, and several more have been in the process of registration. Apart from the various courses CAPSOC conducts pre-deployment training for officers and NCOs of the Croatian Armed Forces, the participants in UN and NATO peace missions. More than 1000 soldiers, NCOs and officers of the armed forces, including 120 members of foreign armed forces from 36 countries worldwide have been trained in the centre.
