Minister Buljević congratulates silver Olympic medalists
The Croatian Defence Minister Josip Buljević on 13 August 2016 sent congratulations to the silver rowing medalist at the ongoing Olympic Games, Damir Martin, member of the Croatian Armed Forces, Brazil.
“Dear Damir, I am congratulating you on the great achievement – the silver Olympic medal in men’s sculls, on behalf of the members of the Croatian Armed Forces, of the Ministry of Defence and on my personal behalf. Your Olympic triumph complements your previous achievements at European and world championships. We are proud to have you as a committed, professional and dedicated member of the family of the Croatian Armed Forces.
The Minister also congratulated Tonči Stipanović on winning the silver medal at the Olympic games – Laser class sailing .
“Dear Tonči, I am congratulating you on the silver medal won at the Olympic Games. The medal has a special value as Croatia’s maiden sailing medal at the Olympic Games. We are proud to have you in the family of the Croatian Armed Forces, and wish you a lot of success in your future career“.
Both Damir Martin and Tonči Stipanović have been members of the Croatian Armed Forces pursuant to the Agreement between the Ministry of Defence and the Croatian Olympic Committee on Co-operation,, Promotion and Development of Sport in the Republic of Croatia. A new agreement, in force since 4 March 2015, has given top athletes the status of reserve specialists of the Croatian Armed Forces.
