Minister Buljević receives a visit from Canadian Ambassador

The Croatian Defence Minister Josip Buljević on 19 February 2016 met with the Ambassador of Canada to the Republic of Croatia, H.E. Daniel Maksymiuk.

During the meeting the two sides confirmed  the high level of the bilateral relations between Canada and Croatia and emphasised the mutual interest in enhanced co-operation through defence policy harmonisation , exchange of  information, exercises and education.  The outlined domains of co-operation were the continued education of Croatiian officers and NCOs at Canadian military schools and continued military technical co-operation, joint training and exercises, the exchange of experiences related the Coast Guard.

Minister Buljević informed  the Canadian Ambassador on the forthcoming activities of the Ministry of Defence and stressed the importance of the Croato-Canadian partnership, particularly with respect to the common interest within NATO and Euro-Atlantic security.  The dscussion  on the global and regional security situation alliances Canadian and Croatia, in particular in the context of the common interests within the framework of NATO and Euro-Atlantic security, underlined Croatia’s contribution to the resollving of global challenges , primarily through participation in NATO-led operations.  With regard to the security in the region, faced with multiple challenges, the two sides agreed on the importance of its Euro-Atlantic perspective, where Croatia has provided a vital support.
