Minister Buljević visits “Adem Jashari” Memorial Centre

On the second day of the official visit to the Republic of Kosovo Minister Buljević and Special Advisor to the President of the Republic, Ante Deur and the official delegation of the Ministry of Defence visited the  “Adem Jashari” Memorial Centre in Prekaz.

Minister Buljević met with the members of the Jašari family and paid respects by laying wreaths on the memorial monument and signin in the memorial book .
Talking to the members of Jashari family the Minister draw a parallel between Croatia and  and Kosovo as two countries paying the ultimate sacrifice for the independence and freedom, cherishing them and showing the commitment to assume their share of responsibility for a lasting peace and stability and the future of southeast Europe integrated into euroatlantic associations.
The places such as the “Adem Jashari” Memorial Centre remind us of the painful moments in the past and of the obligation to act towards a safer future. The victims of the Jashari family had a major role in the struggle for free and independent Kosovo, said Minister Buljević.
The “Adem Jashari” Memorial Centre in Prekaz was opened in memory of the victims of the Serbian attack on Prekaz in March 1998, killing the leader of the Kosovo Liberation Army, Adem Jashari and more than 50 members of his extended family, alongside a number of the members of the Kosovo Liberation Army and a number of defenceless civilians.
