Minister Ivan Anušić Meets Ambassador of India Arun Goel

Croatia and India are friendly countries with potential to strengthen cooperation in the fields of defence and security

Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia and Defence Minister Ivan Anušić met today, 13 November 2025, at the Ministry of Defence with the Ambassador of India to the Republic of Croatia, Arun Goel.

The meeting participants discussed opportunities to strengthen defence cooperation between the two countries, global security challenges, the situation in Southeast Europe, and current modernisation projects the Croatian Armed Forces.

Minister Anušić thanked Ambassador Goel for his visit and highlighted the potential for further strengthening the partnership between Croatia and India.

They discussed possibilities for cooperation in the field of defence industry. In this context, Minister Anušić presented the Croatian defence industry and its high-quality military equipment. He also emphasised the importance of developing maritime capabilities through the procurement of a multi-purpose corvette, a project that will significantly enhance the operational strength of the Croatian Navy.

The discussion emphasised the fact that Croatia is closely monitoring the security situation in Southeast Europe, particularly hybrid threats and destabilising policies that threaten the region, and also advocates for a stronger presence of the international community in the Western Balkans.

Minister Anušić expressed gratitude to India for its outstanding contribution to United Nations peacekeeping operations.
