Minister Kotromanović received French Ambassador to Croatia
Defence Minister Ante Kotromanović received today, on 24 January 2012, Ambassador of the French Republic to the Republic of Croatia Jerome Pasquuier and Colonel Eric Prigent, French military attaché to Croatia.
Defence Minister Ante Kotromanović welcomed the French delegation, thanking them for all the support that the French Republic provided in the Croatia’s acession process to the European Union. He stressed that Croatia respects the French efforts to stabilize the European Union. Croatia will continue to contribute to European security and defence policy, because we want, as before, regardless of our size, to be part of a broader security policy and contribute to stability and security. Minister Kotromanović emphasized Croatian participation in numerous missions and operations, particularly in ISAF and KFOR, where our members have had very good cooperation with members of the French armed forces.
Ambassador Pasquier congratulated the Minister on the outcome of the referendum, stressing that all of us together in the EU still have a lot of work. He noted the very good cooperation between the two ministries of defence especially in the training of naval officers, pointing out that there have been many areas to extended cooperation. Among other things, he mentioned the possible cooperation of the military industries.
Minister Kotromanović presented the French Ambassador with current MOD activities on restructuring and on the adoption of key defence legislation and policy documents, pointing out that we would be smaller but more efficient in all areas.
