Minister Kotromanovic received the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China

Ambassador Zhifei congratulated the Minister Kotromanovic on his appointment on his behalf and on behalf if the Minister of National Defence of the People’s Republic of China, wishing him luck, and expressed confidence that relations between the two countries, both in general and in the defence plan would continue to develop. Ambassador Zhifei specifically commented on last year’s successful visit to Croatia of a high Chinese military delegation led by Vice-President of the Central Military Commission of the People’s Republic of China General Staff Xu Caihou.

Ambassador Zhifei said that the relations in the defence field between the two countries were especially significant for the overall relations between countries. He pointed out that one of the priorities of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China to Croatia has been just to attract Chinese investors for mutual satisfaction. The Ambassador also reminded that this year we mark 20 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, hoping that it will be an opportunity to improve overall relations between the Republic of Croatia and the People’s Republic of China.

Minister Kotromanovic thanked the Ambassador Zhifei on the congratulations, and said that generally cooperation between the two countries was good, but at the same that it can certainly improve, among other things, in the defence and economic field. In this regard Minister Kotromanovic met Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China’s with priorities in the work of the Ministry as well as with current topics related to the Croatian accession to the EU, and with government activities related to strengthening the economy.
