Minister Kotromanović signs Letter of Intent on co-operation in the SOF Aviation

On the margins of the defence ministerial held on 24 June 2015, the defence ministers of the Republic of Bulgaria, the Republic of Croatia, Hungary and the Republic of Slovenia signed the Letter of Intent on developing the future Special Operations Forces – Aviation capability.
The outlined areas of cooperation include joint training and education, procurement and integrated multinational units.

The document speaks clearly of the wide capability enabling possibilities offered by the multinational co-operation within the Alliance.
Taking the SOF as a capability priority for the Alliance, the Letter of Intent serves as a co-operative framework for the signatory nations and their intention to offer the expertise to other NATO and PfP nations. Attending the signature ceremony, the Deputy Secretary General, Alexander Vershbow stressed the SOF as a highly valuable instance of multinational co-operation within the Smart Defence initiative.
