Minister Krstičević attends Munich Security Conference

During the Munich Security Conference (on 17 February 2018) the Croatian Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Damir Krstičević met with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.

In his statement for the media the Minister said: “During our meeting at this important conference, NATO Secretary General and I discussed the contribution of the Republic of Croatia to international operations and missions and the development of the Croatian Armed Forces capabilities. I invited him for an official visit to Croatia to see for himself the efforts invested by our country into the development of defence capabilities”.

Minister Krstičević underlined the importance of the Munich Conference, gathering the defence and foreign ministers, the heads of the vital international organisations, the defence and security experts and the intelligence community.

On the margins of the Conference Minister Krstičević held a meeting with the delegation of the United Kingdom, to agree on intensified bilateral co-operation and on the plans for the period 2018 -2020.

Minister also met with the representatives of Lockheed Martin, with whom he reviewed the past co-operation and the options to continue co-operation and the inclusion of the Croatian defence industry into future projects.

A series of topics were on the agenda of 2018 Munich Security Conference, including NATO –EU co-operation, nuclear safety, the analysis of the security situation in Africa and the Middle East, the impact of technology on democracy and security aspects of global economy.
