Minister Krstićević meets with Croats on official visit to FR Germany
On the first day of the official visit to the Federal Republic of Germany, the Croatian Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Damir Krstičević and the delegation of the Ministry of Defence and of the Croatian Armed Forces attended the reception in the Representation of Baden Wurtenberg to Berlin on the occasion of the Statehood Day, the Croatian Army Day and the fifth anniversary of Croatia’s accession to the European Union.
THe reception was also attended by the members of the Foreign Policy Committee of the Croatian Parliament, the Preefect of the of Zadar County Božidar Longin, the representatives of the Croatian community and of the Croatian Catholic Mission in Germany , the members of the German Parliament (Bundestag), the political and public life figures and other visitors from Croatia and Germany.
THe attendees were welcomed by the Croatian Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Croatia, H. E. Goran Grlić- Radman.
Minister Krstičević expressed his gratitude for the contribution from Croats living abroad to the struggle for independence,and stated: “The current Government cares about the Croats living abroad, which has been recognised as one of the strategic goals in the new National Security Strategy. I am glad to have had the opportunity to meet with the Croats living in Germany “.
he Minister congratulated the Croatians in Germany on the forthcoming Statehood Day; he said “Keep your homeland always in your heart aforever and preserve the Croatian national identity, culture and traditions”.
THe Minister also addressed the 5th anniversary of Croatia’s accession to the EU: “Entering the EU and NATO Croatia achieved its foreign policy goals, joined the developed countries with common values and responsibility for keeping peace and stability“.
Croatia and Germany are friendly countries,whose armed forces operate in international operations and missions – in Afghanistan, Kosovo and Lithuania – contributing to security and peace“, said the Minister.
