Minister Krstičević visits barracks at Udbina and Zemunik
Minister Krstičević observed the works on the Leader Development Centre, and the Cadet Summer Camp and was briefed on the engagement of the forces in the firefighter season 2019
The Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Damir Krstičević on 19 July 2019 visited the barracks “Josip Jović“ at Udbina and “Pukovnik Mirko Vukušić“ at Zemunik.
During the visit to the Barracks “Josip Jović“ at Udbina the Commander of the Croatian Army, Major General Siniša Jurković and the Commander of the Training and Doctrine Command Colonel Željko Ljubas briefed Minister Krstičevića on the progress of the efforts in establishment of the Leadership Development Centre “Marko Babić“.
Minister Krstičević toured the works in the camp to host summer classrooms and accomodation premises as well as the works on the training-related infrastructure of the Leadership Development Centre.
“I am satisfied with the work dynamics here at Udbina. The Centre, which continues the role of the NCO training centre at Šepurine, which had a very important part in Homeland War, and will provide the Croatian Armed Forces with a new capability, enhancing their professionalism and readiness“, said the Minister.
Minister also visited the Summer Camp 2, attended by 92 cadets of the 15th generation of students of the 2nd year of Military Management and Military Engineer studies.
The Summer Camp 2 is administrated from 7 – 19 July 2019, and featured procedures in tactics, shooting, camping, squad movement and formations, defensive and offensive operations by squads, the response to the fire, the crossing of a dangerous terrain etc.
The Minister also visited the Barracks “Pukovnik Mirko Vukušić“ at Zemunik and was briefed on the engagement of the firefighter forces in the 2019 Season.
Minister underlined the excellent co-operation among the components of the Homeland Security System.
Furthermore he also toured the facilities housing the Multinational Special Aviation Program (MSAP).
