Minister of Defence visited CAF member hurt in accident
Defence Minister Branko Vukelic visited on Thursday, March 18, Captain Marko Pavkovic, who has been undergoing treatment at the Clinical Hospital Centre (KBC) in Zagreb. Captain was injured in a severe car accident that took place on Wednesday, March 17, about 00:10 am in Zagreb, immediately after his return from the peacekeeping mission in Afghanistan.
Professor Doctor Mate Majerovic, KBC Deputy Director and Head of the Surgery Clinic said today: ”The situation of the CAF member that is in the KBC Zagreb in the last 12 hours was entirely stabilized and we expect satisfactory recovery in the coming period and several months of rehabilitation”.
”I am happy that Captain Pavkovic’s life is not in danger and that is the most important in this moment. He has exceptional care here at the KBC Zagreb and for us is to wait for the normal course of his recovery and hope that there will be no complications. His large family – Ministry of Defence and the Croatian Armed Forces will give their full support now and in the future”, said Defence Minister Branko Vukelic. Minister Vukelic also said that he spoke with Captain Pavkovic and stressed that, despite the fact that the Captain has been shaken by this event, Captain Pavkovic was holding great, the military way – as members of the CAF hold in most difficult situations.
Before a short visit to the Captain, Minister Vukelic talked about his health with the Director of the KBC Zagreb Academician Dr. Zeljko Rainer and Deputy Director prof. Dr. Mate Majerovic.
