Minister Vukelic visited soldiers deployed in defending against flood

Task forces numbering 150 members of the Army were deployed in Bukevje and Sop Bukevski where they have been engaged in building and strengthening of embankments. Involvement of the CAF members in the field is based on the request of the National Protection and Rescue Directorate (DZUS), which is organizing all activities on the ground.

In a tour of affected areas were also Chief of General Staff General Josip Lucic, and Commander of the Operational Command Centre Brigadier General Vlado Sindler.

In addition to the currently engaged 300 troops deployed in three different Task Forces on the locations Bukevje and Sop Bukevski, Dubrovcak and Sisak, in case of need, additional 1300 troops are on standby which upon request and if necessary can be deployed in 11 separate Task Forces, and apart from soldiers include engineering machinery and corresponding required equipment.
