Minister Vukelic visits Medjimurje County

Defence Minister Branko Vukelic, after visiting the town of Varazdin, on Friday, March 5, visited Međimurje County, where he met with County Prefect Ivan Perhoc.

During the meeting, discussion was on the open issues related to handover of former military facilities in Međimurje County, and further possibilities of economic cooperation with companies from the County.
In a statement to media, Minister Vukelic said that one of the topics was related to the fulfilment of the obligations from the Contract on the handover of former military facilities from 2007, in terms of building facilities for the Croatian Armed Forces. The Minister said that considering the current financial situation, he would extend the deadline for the realization of unfulfilled obligations to the Defence Ministry in terms of building warehouses for the Croatian Armed Forces, with estimated value of 15 million HRK. He stressed that the implementation of these commitments would be achieved on the most optimal way for the Ministry of Defence and Medjimurje County. He also said that Medjimurje County has a large number of companies, with which the Ministry works, and that last year MOD and the Armed Forces ordered services worth 25 million HRK.
During the visit, Minister visited Sestan Busch Factory in Prelog, where he met with the production process of the protective helmet, which the company produce for the Croatian Armed Forces.
Sestan Busch Company nearly 98 percent of its products sell on the international market in over 40 countries and is one of the best examples of the successful company in the field of military industry.
