MoD concludes Agreement with CCAA

As an effort towards ensuring the highest level of air traffic safety in the Republic of Croatia, Agreement on Co-operation between the Ministry of Defence and the Croatian Civilian Aviation Agency (CCAA) was signed on 14 March 2013 by the Defence Minister Ante Kotromanović and by the Director of the Agency, Omer Pita.

The Agreement delineates the domains of joint operation to be harmonised, among which joint investigation of safety-related incidents involving civilian and military aircraft, with joint working groups to be established. Furthermore, the Ministry of Defence and the Agency are to co-operate in supervision of compatibility of military installations and the equipment utilised in civilian air traffic and to exchange data on executed safety controls.

The Minister stated that the Agreement was the basis for achieving the highest world standards of air traffic safety and an important step in harmonisation with the legal framework towards a “Single European Sky” concept, where civil-military co-operation and harmonisation are major subjects.
