MOD signs contracts for 740 new servicemen
The Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Croatia has signed 740 enlistment contracts with the enlisted soldiers and seamen on 3 November 2014.
in addition to 200 enlisted soldiers admitted earlier this year, thereby implementing the Admission Plan for the year 2014 and allowing for optimised age structure of the Croatian Armed Forces.
The specialist training will be conducted in the respective training centres and units in the Republic of Croatia (the Training and Doctrine Command, the Infantry Regiment, the Logistics Training and Doctrine Centre, the Air Defence Regiment, the Artillery and Missile Regiment, the NBC Battalion and Signal Regiment of the Croatian Army, the Logistics Training and Doctrine Centre of the Support Command and the Navy and the Air Force and Air Defence Training Centres).
The majority of the candidates have been assigned for training in combat arms branches (417 in infantry, armour and Navy), 207 candidates in combat support branches (artillery, air defence, engineer units, signal and NBC) and the remaining 116 for combat service support branches. Upon the completion of the specialist training, the candidates will be assigned to the corresponding units of the Croatian Armed Forces.
The candidates (668 males and 72 females) have been recruited following the public competition for the active service in the Armed Forces, while 188 have applied for volunteer military service. The majority of them come from the Split-Dalmatia County, the Osijek-Baranja County and the Vukovar-Srijem County respectively.
The enlistment contracts have been signed for a three-year period for the first time this year. Following their expiry, subsequent contracts can be signed with the active enlisted soldiers and seamen in the duration of five and six year respectively, depending on the needs of the Armed Forces .
