New appointments in the Armed Forces

Based on the decision of the President and Commander in Chief of the Croatian Armed Forces, Ivo Josipović, and upon the recommendation of the Chief of General Staff and with the consent of the Minister of Defense, following senior officers were dismissed and appointed to new duties.

Lieutenant General Slavko Barić was dismissed of his duty as the Deputy Chief of General Staff and appointed as the Director of the Croatian Military Academy “Petar Zrinski” (CMA).
Former acting CMA Director, Brigadier General Slaven Zdilar will again take over his previous duty as a Deputy Commander of the Croatian Military Academy.

Rear Admiral Ante Urlić was relieved as the Commander of the Croatian Navy and appointed as the Deputy Chief of General Staff for Plans and Resources.

The new Commander of the Croatian Navy is Rear Admiral Robert Hranj, who was relieved from duty of the Deputy Military Representative to NATO and the European Union within the Permanent Mission of Croatia to NATO in Brussels. His previous duty in the Military Representation to NATO will be taken over by the Navy Captain Milan Žunić.

Dismissal shall enter into force on 31 October 2012, and appointment on 1 November 2012.
