New Year’s greetings from members of the Croatian Armed Forces from missions and operations

Members of the Croatian Armed Forces extended greetings to citizens of the Republic of Croatia on the occasion of the Christmas and New Year holidays

On Saturday, 30 December 2023, members of the Croatian Armed Forces who participate in international missions, operations and activities extended greetings to all citizens of the Republic of Croatia at home and abroad on the occasion of the Christmas and New Year holidays.

Currently, about 300 members of the Croatian Armed Forces are deployed in a total of ten international missions, operations and activities, namely NATO peace support operation KFOR in the Republic of Kosovo, NATO enhanced Forward Presence (eFP) activity in Poland and the enhanced Vigilance Activity (eVA) in Hungary, the UN peace support operations UNMOGIP (India and Pakistan), MINURSO (Western Sahara) and UNIFIL (Lebanon), the EU peace support operations EU NAVFOR SOMALIA ATALANTA and EUNAVFOR MED IRINI, Operation of the coalition forces OPERATION INHERENT RESOLVE (OIR) in Iraq and in NATO mission Iraq (NMI).

Croatia began its participation in peacekeeping operations by sending 10 military observers to the United Nations peacekeeping mission in Sierra Leone in 1999, and so far a total of 11,300 members of the Croatian Armed Forces have participated in operations, missions and other activities abroad.

By participating in international missions and operations, members of the Croatian Armed Forces contribute to strengthening of the collective peace and security and creating a positive image of the Republic of Croatia as a reliable ally and partner.
