Norwegian Chief of General Staff visited Croatian Navy

During his visit to the Croatian Armed Forces, Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Kingdom of Norway General Harald Sunde visited today, 4 July 2011, The Croatian Navy Command in Split.

Navy Commander Rear Admiral Ante Urlic expressed satisfaction with the visit of Chief of General Staff of the Kingdom of Norway and thanked the Kingdom of Norway for help and support in establishing the Coast Guard. During the meeting they discussed the possibilities of further cooperation between the navies of the two countries and the possibility of reconstruction of Diving Training Centre in Divulje, which, inter alia, could include scuba diving doctrine, training, research and scuba diving medicine.

General Sunde expressed his satisfaction with this project, emphasizing that the Diving Training Centre is extremely important not only for the Croatian Navy and the Armed Forces, but also for the entire region. He also gave the example of Nordic countries that have a lot of joint projects in training, but which were also directed toward third countries.

During the visit to the Navy, Chief of General Staff General Harald Sunde visited the “Petar Kresimir IV” and “Vukovar” missile gunboats and the scuba diving tower at “Knez Trpimir” barracks in Divulje.
