One person injured in air crash

Pilots of the 91st Air Base of the Croatian Air Force and Air Defence Captain Igor Troselj and First Lieutenant Marijan Kudlik – pilots of the MiG-21 aircraft (no. 108 and no. 120) that were today, 23 September 2010, at approximately 12.50 hours had an accident on the “Eugen Kvaternik” military training ground near Slunj, were directed to “Dubrava” hospital in Zagreb, where doctors identified minor injuries and pilots’ lives were not at risk. According to available information the aircraft fell on the territory of Plaski Municipality, in Latin, and the mountain of Hum.

Also according to the information available one person on the ground, approximately 2 kilometres from the aircraft crash site suffered injuries from debris and was transferred to the General Hospital in Ogulin.
Aircraft crash site is secured by the police and military police, and we warn citizens and media representatives that for their own safety not to approach the accident site and surrounding area, since there is information that this is an area where there are mines left from the Homeland war. The investigation is ongoing on all the details of this accident and an Expert Committee has been formed that will examine the causes of the accident. The Committee has already been sent to the field.
