OSCE representatives visit 91st Airbase
The program of visit of the representatives of member states of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), RACVIAC, NATO and OSCE Centre for Conflict Prevention (CPC) to Croatia and visiting the CAF barracks, conducted in compliance with the provisions of the Vienna ’99 Document, continued on Wednesday, May 12, by visiting 91st Airbase of the Croatian Air Force and Air Defence.
On that occasion, observers had the opportunity to see and observe the daily regular activities of employees of 91st Airbase and their training at locations in Zagreb and Pula.
The program started with welcoming speech by the deputy commander of the Croatian Air Force and Air Defence Brigadier General Drazen Scuri, after which he held a presentation on the history and structure of the airbase. Then the guest made a tour of the weapons’ display in use in 91st Airbase, including the MiG-21aircraft, An-32B, Mi-8 MTV1 and Mi-171Sh.
OSCE representatives also visited the airfield in Pula. A short presentation was given by the fighter squadron commander Major Andrija Celija. After briefing and tour of pilots’ operational rooms, two MiG’s 21 performed a short demonstration.
