OSCE representatives visited Croatian Military Academy

In accordance with the commitments of the Republic of Croatia from the Vienna ’99 Document, representatives of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), the OSCE Centre for Conflict Prevention (CPC), NATO, the Centre for Security Cooperation (RACVIAC) from 27 countries, and military attaches accredited to the Republic of Croatia visited on Monday and Tuesday, May 10-11, the “Petar Zrinski” Croatian Military Academy (HVU).

It is a regular visit arising from the Vienna Document ’99, which signatory was also the Republic of Croatia.
The implementation of activities called “OSCE 10” began on Monday, May 10, at the HVU by welcome address of the Director of Arms Control Department Brigadier General Zdravko Jakop. On behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, the introductory address was given by Head of the Europe and North America Directorate Aleksandar Hein, and on behalf of the Ministry of Defence, Director of International Defence Cooperation Department Davor Cutic. The presentation of the Croatian Armed Forces was given by the Deputy Chief of General Staff Lieutenant General Slavko Baric.
HVU Director, Major General Mirko Sundov gave a presentation and informed all those present with history, organization and main tasks of the HVU.
On the second day, OSCE representatives visited the HVU organizational units, cabinets for classes, chapel, sports facilities, printing facilities, accommodation facilities and talked with teachers and students attending schools at the HVU about the system of military education in the CAF, and on the HVU organization and its mission.
OSCE representatives will also visit 91st Airbase in Zagreb, and airfield in Pula.
