PO3 Lovrić and Pvt Fijala- the NCO and Private of the Month (January 2013)
The Chief of the General Staff, Lt. Gen. Drago Lovrić presented the Croatian Armed Forces NCO and Private of the Month the respective awards. The NCO, PO3 Dragan Lovrić of the Croatian Navy Flotilla and pvt Vaclav Fijala of the NBC Battalion of the Croatian Army were proposed as the NCO and Private of the Month by the Commanding NCOs of their units, with the approval by the respective services commanders, and accepted by the NCO Corps of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Croatia.
Addressing the awardees the Chief of the General Staff emphasised the year 2013 being highly important as the Year of Privates and NCOs, who constitute the pillar of the Armed Forces. It especially applies on the NCO support chain, recognised in the NATO Commands as well.
Lt.Gen.Lovrić also expressed his prive over the achievements of the two soldiers and appealed to them to continue to do so in the future. „In addition to exercising one’s duties duly“, stated Lt. Gen. Lovrić „it is also essential to mind the security of one’s colleagues“.
The PO3 and pvt Fijala were nominated for outstanding service in January 2013.
PO3 Lovrić, the head of the electrical and energy section of the Frigate 42 of the Navy Flotilla demonstrated superior level of responsibility and ability at his duty last month maintaining the combat system.
Pvt Vaclav Fijala distingushed himself by operating conscientiously and resourcefully the snow-plough continuously for three days during the adverse weather conditions in January 2013 to ensure uninterrupted functioning of the «Milivoj Halar» Barracks at Dugo Selo.
