Police instructors completed training at Camp Marmal

Croatian Police Advisory Team – PAT, which is part of the 20th Croatian contingent deployed in the ISAF mission in Afghanistan, conducted these days the 3rd phase of Induction Training.

The third and final phase of training – training in the area of operations, was carried out at the Marmal Camp.
Enforcers of the training were members of the Regional Command North (RC North).

The training consisted of the two parts, theoretical and practical. In the theoretical part of the final training, PAT members were introduced with the current intelligence and security situation in the area of operations, the cultural specificities of Afghanistan, especially in the north of the country and with the activities, tactics-techniques and procedures (TTP) of insurgents in the area of operations. In addition, PAT members were introduced with the command and control (C2), communications and information systems, logistics support and medical care within the Allied Forces (ISAF).

The practical part of the training consisted of familiarization with rebel forces TTPs using improvised explosive devices (IED) and allied forces TTPs in the prevention and fight against the IEDs. The most interesting part of the training was on the training ground, where the PAT members in reality faced with situations that potentially await them during the execution of tasks. All members of the PAT successfully completed the final phase of training.

In addition to 16 members of the Croatian Armed Forces, there are 4 members of the Ministry of the Interior and two policemen from Montenegro within the PAT providing advisory services to Afghan Police (AUP) , namely to the Police Department of the Balkh Province (Balkh PHQ).
