President Josipovic visited CAF Fire-fighting Task Force Command

The visit was also attended by the CAF Chief of General Staff General Josip Lucic, Commander of the CAF FF TF Major General Mate Obradovic, Commander of the Croatian Air Force and Air Defence Major General Vlado Bagaric, Commander of the Croatian Navy Rear Admiral (UH) Ante Urlic, DUZS Director Damir Trut, Chief Fire-fighting Commander Mladen Jurin, and other chiefs of the fire-fighting community.
During his visit, President Josipović visited the Operational Centre of the CAF FF TF Command where he was introduced with current state and operations of the CAF FF TF. The presentation of the tasks, activities, role and use of CAF in the implementation of special measures for protection from fire of interest for the Republic of Croatia in 2010, was given by the CAF FF TF Commander General Mate Obradovic. In his speech, General Obradovic said that this year, based on past experience from previous fire-fighting seasons and lessons learned in the use of CAF FF TF, they achieved optimal organization and structure which ensures fast, high quality and efficient FF force throughout the coastal region.
In a statement to the media President Josipovic expressed his satisfaction with the readiness of forces involved in the fire-fighting season.
“I am absolutely satisfied. I think that the Croatian Armed Force in previous years has shown that it knows, can and will,” President Josipovic said. He pointed out the excellent cooperation of CAF FF TF with fire-fighting structures. “We are in a time when the risk of fire is large. Some fires are of course inevitable, but the CAF and the fire-fighters will do all to lessen the consequences and to extinguish every fire as soon as possible”, President Josipovic said. During the visit President Josipovic also met with the activities of the Coordination Centre for Extinguishing Forest Fires of the National Protection and Rescue Directorate.
