President Josipovic visited “Eugen Kvaternik” military training ground

Croatian President and Commander-in-Chief of the Croatian Armed Forces Ivo Josipovic and his associates visited on Tuesday, June 8, “Eugen Kvaternik” military training ground near Slunj. The president was welcomed by the MOD State Secretary Mate Raboteg and Zeljko Gorsic, Chief of General Staff  General Josip Lucic, and Army Commander Lieutenant General Mladen Kruljac with his closest associates.

On this occasion, the President made a tour of the training ground and was introduced with the current situation and plans for further development. At the “Mocila” training site, the President attended the demonstration in which members of the Army units – Engineering Regiment, Military Police Company and Military Intelligence Battalion, presented their capabilities, equipment and part of the training which they were passing in preparation for participation in international operations. 9th OMLT composed of members of the Guard Motorised Brigade presented their readiness for participation in the ISAF mission in Afghanistan through situational exercise of patrol response in close ambush.
Chief of General Staff, General Josip Lucic said that today we could see the level of readiness of our members who were preparing for their tasks in peacekeeping missions. “They are trained and prepared for the tasks that are before them. We are pleased that the President could see it by himself “, Chief of General Staff General Lucic said.
In a statement to the media, President Josipovic stressed the importance of the “Eugen Kvaternik” military training ground for the Croatian Armed Forces. “This is a large military training area, which has a very important function in training and preparation of the armed forces”, President Josipovic said. According to the President, readiness of the CAF members was, as he saw during a visit, truly excellent. “I congratulate the members of the Croatian Armed Forces on such a good preparation”, President Josipovic said and also congratulated all CAF members on what they had done during the flood in Eastern Croatia by saving people and property.
