Press conference on cooperation between MOD and ZTC held

The press conference regarding the cooperation of the Ministry of Defence and Aviation Technical Centre (ZTC) was held today, 19 April 2011, in Ministry of Defence. The press conference was attended by State Secretary in the Ministry of Defence Mate Raboteg, ZTC CEO Zdravko Delic and Deputy Chief of Contracting and Procurement Department Hrvoje Salopek.

MOD State Secretary Raboteg stressed the good cooperation between MOD and ZTC based on the conclusion of a cooperation agreement signed in May, 2010. “Based on this agreement, the annual contract was signed for maintenance of aeronautical equipment of the MOD, and the provision of the third-degree maintenance services by ZTC, while the lower levels of maintenance (1st and 2nd degree) were conducted in air bases of the Croatian Armed Forces”, State Secretary Raboteg explained. He also pointed out that for certain types of aircraft MOD independently negotiates the acquisition of spare parts and supplies specifically for the basic aircraft maintenance (1st and 2nd degree) which is carried out in air bases of the Croatian Air Force and Air Defence.
ZTC CEO Zdravko Delic said that the ZTC company since its beginning performed all contracted work in accordance with the signed agreement. He pointed out that, when ZTC would meet conditions they would take over other works that were not covered by previous agreement, i.e. maintenance of Canadair aircraft, for which Ministry of Defence currently has a valid contract with Bombardier company.
Raboteg and Delic denied today’s media reports about a possible disrespect of the signed cooperation agreement between MOD and ZTC-a and completely rejected the thesis published in daily newspapers, as the MOD gives priority to foreign companies for the maintenance of aeronautical equipment. They backed up their statements with the hours contracted for preventive and corrective maintenance of aircraft in 2011, for the Pilatus aircraft type 2715 hours were contracted, for Air Tractor aircraft type 11 481 hours, and for the Canadairs 20 016 hours of corrective and preventive maintenance were contracted . All of these activities for the CAF will be done by ZTC company.
